Christmas Akpodiete, a human rights lawyer, has commended United States President, Donald Trump, for what he described as decisive and courageous action against Iran, saying the move represents a major step toward global peace and security.
Akpodiete, in a statement on Monday in Washington, said the President’s intervention in Iran in 2026 demonstrated a strong commitment to achieving peace through strength, noting that the action has significantly weakened threats posed by Iranian-backed elements.
He particularly referenced the military operation code-named Operation Epic Fury, which he said dealt a heavy blow to what he termed Iran’s “terrorist infrastructure,” adding that the development underscores the U.S. administration’s resolve to confront oppression and instability.
According to him, the swift decision-making by President Trump not only neutralised imminent threats but also created an opportunity for the Iranian people to envision a more secure and prosperous future.
“The bold steps taken by President Trump to address the Iranian situation have empowered citizens and reinforced global confidence in strong leadership. His actions have protected the world from tyranny and set the stage for lasting peace,” Akpodiete said.
He further noted that the airstrikes carried out during the operation were widely seen by supporters as necessary measures to safeguard international stability, stressing that dismantling key strongholds linked to insurgent activities would contribute to long-term security in the Middle East.
Akpodiete maintained that the intervention has enhanced safety prospects not only for the United States but also for the wider global community, describing the move as a defining moment in the pursuit of peace.
