The Tony Elumelu Foundation has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 Entrepreneurship Programs, offering a unique opportunity for aspiring and existing African entrepreneurs to access funding, training, and mentorship.
Applications are now being accepted through TEFConnect, the Foundation’s proprietary digital hub, from January 1, 2025, to March 1, 2025.
The flagship Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme, with a special focus on businesses leveraging artificial intelligence and green initiatives this year, provides support to African entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas or existing businesses not older than five years.
Additionally, the IYBA-WE4A Entrepreneurship Programme, a collaboration with the European Union and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, is exclusively open to women entrepreneurs in Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Cameroon, Kenya, Mozambique, Malawi, and Togo with green business ideas or existing green businesses.
The Aguka Ideation Programme, a partnership with the UNDP Rwanda and the Rwandan Ministry of Youths and Arts, supports young Rwandan entrepreneurs between ages 18-30 with business ideas, providing them with seed capital of $3000 to nurture and develop their innovative concepts.
Since its inception in 2010, the Tony Elumelu Foundation has empowered over 21,000 African entrepreneurs through its programs, providing access to training, mentorship, and funding. These entrepreneurs have collectively created over 800,000 direct and indirect jobs and generated over $4.2 billion in revenue.
This year’s program launch underscores the Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting African entrepreneurship and driving economic growth across the continent.
