Schneider Electric, a leading global provider of energy management and automation solutions, has further solidified its commitment to Africa’s economic growth by opening a new office headquarters in Aromire, Ikeja, Lagos.
The new facility will serve as a central hub for Schneider Electric’s operations in Nigeria and the broader West African market. The company’s Country President for West Africa, Ajibola Akindele, emphasized the importance of this expansion in supporting critical sectors like power, oil and gas, food and beverage, consumer-packaged goods, and building.
Akindele highlighted Schneider Electric’s dedication to driving economic growth and fostering job creation in Nigeria through strategic local partnerships. The company’s 19-year presence in Nigeria has led to significant growth, with the employee count expanding from 40 to 250.
The new office will not only service countries across West Africa but also showcase Schneider Electric’s capabilities, innovation, and problem-solving expertise. The company’s extensive network of over 300 partners in Nigeria, including distributors, retailers, contractors, system integrators, and panel builders, indirectly creates over 3,000 jobs.
Schneider Electric’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its recognition as the most sustainable company in the world by Time Magazine. The company believes that sustainable development is closely tied to energy access, a major challenge in Africa. By investing in local talent and developing innovative solutions, Schneider Electric aims to contribute to Africa’s economic growth and energy security.
