SAP Sapphire 2025: Global Brands Showcase AI-Driven Innovations and Business Transformations

Leading global brands demonstrated their successful innovation and business transformation initiatives at this year’s SAP Sapphire, the flagship business and technology event held in Madrid, Spain. SAP Sapphire serves as the company’s premier annual gathering, bringing together customers, partners, and industry leaders to explore the latest advancements in SAP technologies.

In a statement, organizers highlighted that this year’s event unveiled groundbreaking innovations designed to place the power of Business AI into the hands of every user, revolutionizing how work is accomplished across industries. Nazia Pillay, Interim Managing Director for South Africa at SAP, emphasized that organizations are leveraging advanced technologies and integrated business applications to drive innovation-led growth.

“The growing capabilities of Business AI applications, powered by trusted business data, are proving to be transformative for companies seeking improved decision-making and operational efficiency,” Pillay stated.

Several brands showcased successful Business AI initiatives built on SAP technologies. Among them was global brewer Heineken, which introduced Hoppy, an AI-driven chatbot powered by the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). Hoppy has streamlined data access, enabling business users to retrieve information in their preferred language. Since its implementation, the time required to retrieve data has dropped from 15 minutes to just one minute. Additionally, Hoppy flags missing cost center information in purchase orders, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.

Competitive gaming organization Team Liquid also leveraged SAP’s Joule agents to provide real-time access to game statistics, player performance trends, and strategic insights using natural language processing. The team’s Next Level Esports Centre dashboard, built entirely on SAP BTP, equips coaches and players with critical data to prepare for opponents and manage high-pressure scenarios effectively.

“This partnership is transforming how we utilize our extensive database, proving that AI and data integration are essential to our success in esports,” said Victor Goossens, co-CEO and founder of Team Liquid.

CAF, a global leader in urban rail and bus systems, successfully migrated to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, integrating SAP solutions into core business functions such as master data management, procurement, sales, and transport operations. “Our new technology landscape enables us to better meet business requirements in a complex and fast-changing market,” said Guillermo Apellániz, CAF’s Digital Transformation Director.

For companies still operating with on-premise solutions, RISE with SAP offers a seamless transition to a cloud ERP environment. Global medical technology company Siemens Healthineers adopted RISE with SAP to support its digital transformation journey. “By embracing SAP technology, we can reduce complexity, standardize processes, and deliver on our mission to pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare,” said Stefan Henkel, Chief Information Officer at Siemens Healthineers.

Similarly, Xerox chose RISE with SAP to streamline operations and adopt a clean-core approach across markets and business processes. The move is expected to reduce IT costs while enabling the delivery of innovative business models aligned with industry demands. “SAP is a strategic partner helping us increase speed, agility, and cost-effectiveness while equipping the enterprise with modern tools and improved support,” said Louie Pastor, Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation and Administrative Officer at Xerox.
