Pinnah Foods Limited, the parent company of The Ice Cream Factory and Yin Yang Express, has announced a strategic partnership with The Destiny Trust Children Foundation to support the education, shelter, and empowerment of vulnerable children in Nigeria. The collaboration, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding, underscores Pinnah Foods’ commitment to social impact through financial support and direct engagement, marking a significant step in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
The partnership was officially sealed at a ceremony held at Pinnah Foods’ head office in Yaba, Lagos. As part of the agreement, Pinnah Foods will cover the annual rent and maintenance of a 30-bed Residential Learning Centre operated by The Destiny Trust. Additionally, the company will provide essential school supplies for 100 children under the foundation’s School Enrolment and Back-to-School Initiative.
This initiative is a cornerstone of Pinnah Foods’ CSR strategy, which promotes employee volunteering and active participation in improving children’s welfare. The company’s Managing Director, Shade Ogunleye, emphasised the importance of creating meaningful change through the partnership. “This partnership is more than just a collaboration—it is a heartfelt commitment. At Pinnah Foods, we believe in making a real difference in children’s lives. By working with The Destiny Trust, we aim to provide a safe environment and quality education for every Nigerian child in need,” Ogunleye stated.
The Destiny Trust’s Chief Executive Officer, Athina Jeje, highlighted the critical role of collective responsibility in addressing gaps in education and child welfare. “Children deserve to experience childhood—to be in school, to be safe, to have fun, and to grow into responsible adults who contribute positively to society. The government alone cannot do it all, and this partnership demonstrates how the private sector can make a lasting impact,” Jeje said.
Foluso Ogunleye, Chief Executive Officer of Pinnah Foods Limited, reiterated the company’s belief that true success extends beyond financial performance. “This partnership represents more than just a collaboration; it is a commitment to ensuring that more children have access to education, nourishment, and the support they need to thrive. At Pinnah Foods Ltd, we measure success not only by financial growth but also by the positive impact we bring to people’s lives,” he stated.
The partnership between Pinnah Foods and The Destiny Trust aims to create a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in a supportive and nurturing environment. By addressing critical needs such as education and shelter, the collaboration seeks to empower vulnerable children and contribute to the development of a more equitable society.
Pinnah Foods’ involvement in this initiative reflects its dedication to leveraging its resources and influence to drive positive change. The company’s support for The Destiny Trust’s programs aligns with its broader mission to create a lasting impact on communities and improve the lives of those in need.
As the partnership unfolds, Pinnah Foods and The Destiny Trust will work together to ensure that vulnerable children receive the care, education, and opportunities they deserve. This joint effort underscores the importance of private sector involvement in addressing social challenges and highlights the transformative power of collaboration in creating a brighter future for Nigeria’s children.
