Valeen Oseh-Ovarah, a rising Nigerian cybersecurity entrepreneur, has been selected as one of only 16 women innovators in the United Kingdom to join the inaugural Women in Innovation Community Forum by Innovate UK, the country’s national innovation agency.

Oseh-Ovarah, originally from Delta State, is the founder of TisOva, the world’s first artificial intelligence-driven platform designed to safeguard students against online fraud. Her appointment places her among the UK’s most influential female leaders shaping the future of technology and public policy.

This recognition highlights her growing impact on global innovation and reinforces the role of Nigerian talent on the international stage. In a formal invitation from Karen Souza at the Innovate UK Knowledge Base Centre, Oseh-Ovarah was welcomed into the elite group tasked with guiding innovation strategy and influencing funding decisions—especially for women-led tech initiatives.

“This selection demonstrates that Nigerian talent can compete and lead at the highest levels of global innovation,” said Oseh-Ovarah in an exclusive statement to a media organisation. .

As a member of the forum, she will serve a one-year term contributing to Innovate UK’s Pledge for Progress , collaborating with top innovators and agency leadership to advocate for fairer investment opportunities and greater visibility for female entrepreneurs.

Her inclusion builds on prior success, including her leadership of the Female Founders First campaign in 2024, which secured £1.875 million in additional government funding for women-led startups. That initiative not only showcased her strategic policy insight but also cemented her reputation as a changemaker in the innovation ecosystem.

Oseh-Ovarah brings a strong academic and professional background to the table. A former best graduating student at Delta State University and a certified cybercrime investigator, she has previously earned recognition such as being named among the Top 50 UK Women in Tech, Top 76 Global Women Inventors and Innovators, and a Top 10 cybersecurity startup founder in the UK.

She has also received competitive grants from prestigious institutions like the Royal Academy of Engineering and Innovate UK, underscoring her dual expertise in both technical development and strategic innovation.

This latest appointment further cements Valeen Oseh-Ovarah’s position as a leading Nigerian cybersecurity entrepreneur shaping the digital future—not just in the UK, but globally.
