Popular entertainment brand, MTV Base, has announced its participation in the Africa Creative Market (ACM) with a dedicated “Music Day.” Scheduled for Friday in Lagos, the event will feature panel discussions and activities aimed at elevating African music on the global stage.

As a sponsor of the ACM, MTV Base will bring its Music Day to the gathering, providing a platform for industry professionals, artists, and music enthusiasts to connect and explore the future of African music. The panel discussions will cover a range of topics, including strategies for internationalizing African artists, innovative music production techniques, and navigating the rapidly changing music industry.

One of the highlights of the Music Day will be a panel titled “Beyond Borders: Building Global Audiences for African Music.” Experts from the industry will share insights on leveraging social media, forming strategic partnerships, and utilizing digital platforms to reach international audiences.

Another panel, “The Art of Sampling: How It Works and When Does It Become Theft?,” will delve into the legal and creative aspects of music sampling, addressing the delicate balance between inspiration and copyright infringement.

Busola Komolafe, Senior Channels Manager at Paramount Africa, expressed MTV Base’s commitment to shaping the future of African music through insightful discussions and strategic expertise. “The ACM is the ideal platform to address the challenges and seize the opportunities that will propel African music to new heights,” she stated.

Yetty Ogunnubi, Communications Director of the ACM, welcomed MTV Base’s involvement in Music Day, emphasizing its significance in guiding artists and industry professionals towards expanding their global reach.
