Migo Mobile, a new entrant in Nigeria’s mobile device market, has officially launched its operations with a mission to bridge the country’s digital gap. The company aims to provide affordable, high-quality smartphones and laptops to Nigerians, ensuring that even those with limited financial resources can access reliable digital devices. Through innovative payment solutions and plans for local production, Migo Mobile is set to revolutionise the mobile market in Nigeria.
At the official launch event in Lagos, George Evans, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Migo Mobile, emphasised the company’s commitment to affordability and quality. “We want to provide a device that is not only affordable but also of high quality,” Evans stated. He highlighted that the brand’s primary focus is on the average Nigerian who struggles to afford premium smartphones.
To make its vision a reality, Migo Mobile has partnered with Credit Direct to offer a buy-now-pay-later scheme. This initiative allows customers to make a 30 per cent down payment for a device and spread the balance over six months, ensuring that financial constraints do not limit access to technology. “The partnership with Credit Direct is a game-changer. It enables us to offer flexible payment options, making it easier for Nigerians to own a quality device,” Evans explained.
Beyond affordability, Migo Mobile has ambitious plans to localise production by establishing manufacturing facilities in Nigeria within the next 24 months. This move is expected to reduce costs, create jobs, and contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth. “We want to create employment opportunities for Nigerians and contribute to the country’s economy,” Evans noted.
The company has also introduced customer-centric policies, including a 12-month warranty and a repair service to ensure after-sales support. “We understand that our customers want peace of mind when they purchase a device. That is why we are offering a 12-month warranty and a repair service that’s second to none,” Evans added.
Joseph Osodi, Head of Key Accounts Management at Credit Direct, emphasised that the financing option is designed to boost financial inclusion while making high-quality devices more accessible. “We are offering convenience, peace of mind, and luxury at your doorstep. Our goal is to enable Nigerians to access credit facilities that improve their standard of living,” Osodi said.
Migo Mobile’s launch marks a significant shift in Nigeria’s mobile market, offering affordable, locally produced devices with strong customer support to bridge the digital divide. By combining affordability, quality, and innovative payment solutions, the company is poised to empower millions of Nigerians with access to digital tools, fostering economic growth and technological advancement.
