Silverbird’s World of Records (SWORD) proudly celebrates a groundbreaking achievement as 27-year-old Lilian Madubulum sets a new marathon dance record. Dancing tirelessly for 55 hours and 49 minutes, Lilian has surpassed the previous benchmark of 55 hours and 40 minutes set by Kafayat ‘Kaffy’ Shafau nearly two decades ago.
Lilian’s journey to victory began on Friday, November 1, 2024, when she joined 24 other hopeful contestants on the dance floor. Over the following hours, she displayed a remarkable level of confidence, stamina, and drive, ultimately emerging as the last dancer standing and clinching the top prize of 1 million naira.
Motivated by a desire to defy expectations, Lilian aimed to prove that true strength and determination come from within. Reflecting on her win, she shared that breaking this record was her way of challenging perceptions of her non-athletic physique and showcasing her inner resilience.
Jacob Akinyemi Johnson (JAJ), Chief Creative Officer of Silverbird Group, praised Lilian’s accomplishment, stating, “Lilian’s victory is not only a personal triumph but also a milestone for Silverbird’s World of Records. Her strength and passion resonate with our vision to highlight Nigeria’s finest talents on the global stage.”
As the new champion of the dance marathon, Lilian is set to gain widespread media attention, with various interviews lined up across radio, television, and social platforms. This exposure is expected to launch her career and provide her with numerous new opportunities.
Silverbird’s World of Records commends Lilian for her historic achievement and applauds her for inspiring Nigerians to pursue their dreams, no matter the odds. We eagerly anticipate the impact her story will continue to have on aspiring talents across the country.
