The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has announced that entry to the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) will be free for all visitors. The 10-day event is scheduled to take place from November 1-10 at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos.

Meanwhile, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has once again announced its sponsorship of the fair, marking the sixth consecutive year as the official financial partner.

LCCI Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Promotion Board, Abimbola Olashore, disclosed these details at a media briefing in Lagos. He added that the number of exhibitors this year is expected to surpass the annual average of 3,500 by approximately 50 percent.

Olashore stated that state-of-the-art security measures will be deployed throughout the fair to manage the challenges that may arise due to the free entry policy. He expressed confidence in attracting over 1 million visitors to the fair, surpassing the previous average of 350,000.

UBA’s Head of SME Banking, Babatunde Ajayi, highlighted the bank’s strengthened commitment to supporting African businesses, announcing a substantial $6 billion loan facility dedicated to SME development. He emphasized the alignment of UBA’s mission with LCCI’s and the bank’s focus on providing comprehensive market access and seamless transaction capabilities to its customers.

Ajayi noted that UBA’s support for the fair would extend beyond traditional banking services, offering direct customer engagement opportunities, payment collection and repatriation services for African exhibitors, and advanced digital banking platforms for efficient transactions.
