Lagos Set to Host Entertainment Week Africa in November 2025, Spotlighting Pan-African Creativity

Lagos is poised to become the epicenter of African creativity as it prepares to host Entertainment Week Africa from November 18 to 23, 2025—an expansive gathering designed to link Africa’s creative talent with global investors, industry executives, and policy influencers.

What began as a city-based initiative, formerly known as Entertainment Week Lagos, has evolved into a continent-wide movement. Organizers revealed on Tuesday that the reimagined Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) will spotlight key sectors including music, film, fashion, technology, and live event production, with the goal of accelerating the growth of Africa’s creative economy.

The 2025 edition will feature six major experiential pillars: a Content Festival celebrating African storytelling, a Music Festival amplifying emerging and established artists, a Fashion Festival showcasing continental design excellence, an AI & Tech Expo highlighting innovation in creative industries, a Live Production Expo for stage and event professionals, and a Creative Job Fair connecting young talent with employment and internship opportunities.

Darey Art Alade, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Livespot360, emphasized the event’s transformation: “In just three years, we’ve gone from a local gathering to a unifying force for African creatives. Entertainment Week Africa is our promise to build a creative economy that’s not only sustainable but also recognized and respected on the global stage.”

At its core, EWA aims to close the gap between raw talent and essential resources—be it funding, infrastructure, or international exposure. With projections showing Africa’s creative sector contributing significantly to GDP and job creation, the event is strategically positioned to serve as a gateway for global investors seeking high-potential opportunities while supporting homegrown innovation.

Past iterations have already led to tangible outcomes, including content distribution deals and cross-border collaborations. The 2025 summit in Lagos is expected to further solidify Africa’s presence in the global entertainment landscape, transforming creative potential into economic power.
