apanese automotive giant Honda has launched a new motorcycle, the ACE 150, specifically designed for rugged rural use, particularly for farmers.
The motorcycle was unveiled at the Honda factory on Idiroko Road, Ota, Ogun State, before wholesalers and the public.
Honda Senior Manager of Sales, Olabade Badejo, described the ACE 150 as a “kind of motorcyclist,” emphasizing that it was not intended for commercial use but rather for rural operations, dispatch riders, and those who cannot use conventional vehicles or trucks to transport farm produce.
Badejo stressed that the ACE 150 was not made with locally sourced parts, except for research and development. He attributed this to the Nigerian government’s lack of commitment to local content, particularly in the motorcycle industry.
The Managing Director of the company, Tetsuya Kawai, stated that the motorcycle was built with an understanding of the Nigerian market to ensure durability, reliability, and performance. He described the unveiling as a testament to Honda’s commitment to providing quality products that meet the evolving needs of its customers.
