The latest cohort of the i-Academy Supplementary Technical Engineering Programme , organized by Heirs Technologies, has successfully completed its training and been celebrated at a graduation ceremony in Lagos. This hands-on initiative continues to shape Africa’s next generation of tech talent through immersive instruction in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development.

The event took place at the Heirs Technologies training facility and marked the culmination of a rigorous three-month learning journey. Launched in 2023, the i-Academy Supplementary Technical Engineering Programme is designed to equip young professionals with practical, job-ready skills that align with industry demands.

Obong Idiong, Managing Director of Heirs Technologies, praised the graduates for their perseverance and passion. “We are immensely proud of our graduates,” he said. “They represent the future of Africa’s technology sector — driven, skilled, and ready to drive innovation. At Heirs Technologies, we’re not just building a business; we’re building leaders.”

He added, “This group brings our total number of graduates to over 100. We are excited to see the impact they will create across the continent.”

Ivy Ikpeme-Mbakwem, Vice President of i-Academy, also addressed the graduating class, emphasizing the growing opportunities in cybersecurity and cloud technologies. She urged the new graduates to remain focused and committed as they step into the professional world.

As part of the final stage of the i-Academy Supplementary Technical Engineering Programme , participants engaged in real-world simulations led by experienced instructors. The cloud computing track covered essential topics such as application deployment, identity and access management, infrastructure control, enterprise architecture design, and threat detection practices.

In parallel, the cybersecurity stream trained participants in network protection, incident response, vulnerability assessment, and identity management protocols.

Looking forward, Heirs Technologies plans to expand the programme to include specialized tracks in artificial intelligence, data analytics, and technical support. These additions reflect the company’s ongoing commitment to digital transformation and inclusive growth.

“This is just the beginning,” Ivy concluded. “We are laying the foundation for a digitally empowered Africa.”
