FirstBank Nigeria Limited has announced its sponsorship of the inaugural Lagos International Theatre Festival (LITF). The bank’s support for this groundbreaking event aligns with its First@Arts initiative, which aims to promote and support the creative arts industry in Nigeria.
Olusegun Alebiosu, Managing Director of FirstBank, emphasized the bank’s long-standing commitment to the arts. “FirstBank has a deep-rooted passion for the creative industry,” he said. “Through our First@Arts initiative, we are dedicated to providing the necessary support, including financing and promotion, to enable the success of artists and the industry as a whole.”
The LITF, organized by Terra Kulture in partnership with the Lagos State government, is set to showcase the rich tapestry of Nigerian theater. The festival will feature a diverse range of performances, including plays, musicals, and dance, from both local and international artists.
Bolanle Austen-Peters, Founder of the LITF, expressed her gratitude for FirstBank’s support. “This festival is a dream come true,” she said. “With the backing of FirstBank, we are confident that the LITF will become a major cultural event in Nigeria and beyond.”
By sponsoring the LITF, FirstBank is not only supporting the arts but also contributing to the economic and social development of Nigeria. The festival will attract tourists, generate revenue, and foster cultural exchange.
