The FATE Foundation has announced the 10th edition of its annual Business Conference, set for September 26, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center in Lagos, under the theme The AI Powered Business. The event will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping entrepreneurship, driving innovation, and accelerating sustainable growth across Nigeria’s small and medium enterprise sector.
With a focus on real-world applications, the conference will bring together industry experts, entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders for a day of keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions aimed at demystifying AI and equipping business owners with practical tools to leverage the technology. A pitch competition will also be featured, offering emerging founders a platform to present scalable, tech-driven solutions to a panel of judges and potential investors.
Toyin Bakare, President of the FATE Alumni Association, described the conference as a timely opportunity for past beneficiaries of the foundation’s programs to demonstrate their innovations and connect with growth enablers. “This event is more than a celebration of a decade of impact—it’s a launchpad for the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs ready to harness the power of AI,” she said.
Dipo Davies, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the 10th FATE Business Conference, emphasized the growing relevance of intelligent technologies in leveling the playing field for local businesses. He noted that the pitch competition would spotlight startups using AI to solve critical challenges in sectors such as fintech, healthtech, agritech, and e-commerce.
Adenike Adeyemi, Executive Director of FATE Foundation, said the conference is designed to empower over 1,000 entrepreneurs with actionable insights and strategic knowledge to scale their ventures. “We are entering an era where digital intelligence is no longer optional,” she said. “By fostering dialogue around the AI powered business Nigeria, we aim to build a dynamic ecosystem that supports innovation, inclusion, and long-term economic development.”
Since its inception, FATE Foundation has supported thousands of young entrepreneurs through training, mentorship, and funding initiatives. This year’s conference marks a milestone in its mission to evolve with the times—shifting from foundational entrepreneurship support to guiding digital transformation in the MSME space.
As AI adoption accelerates across Africa, events like this play a crucial role in bridging the knowledge gap, connecting innovators with enablers, and positioning Nigerian startups to compete in an increasingly automated global economy.
