The Enugu State government has taken a significant step towards reviving its economy by signing a N40 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JELFAH Group to revitalize the Sunrise Flour Mill in Emene.
Governor Peter Mbah, who signed the deal, reiterated his commitment to creating a conducive environment for investors in the state. He emphasized that the partnership with JELFAH Group is a win-win situation, as the government is divesting 60% of the contract to ensure the mill’s revival.
JELFAH Group’s Managing Director, Moses Saromi, expressed confidence in Enugu State as the preferred location for the partnership, citing the governor’s commitment to economic development.
The investment in the Sunrise Flour Mill goes beyond wheat manufacturing. JELFAH Group plans to integrate backward and forward by cultivating farm supplies for the mill’s operations.
Governor Mbah, who assumed office in May 2023, has made it a priority to revitalize dormant state assets and grow the state’s economy. The partnership with JELFAH Group is a tangible step towards achieving this goal.
