The Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS) has officially launched its Custodian Portal , a digital platform designed to modernize custodian operations and enhance the efficiency of Nigeria’s capital market infrastructure.

Unveiled on Monday, the Custodian Portal offers a centralized, user-friendly experience for market participants, equipping custodians with advanced tools for real-time portfolio management, trade processing, document tracking, share transfers, client symbol searches, and instant access to critical market data.

Haruna Jalo-Waziri, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CSCS Plc, emphasized that digital transformation remains central to the company’s mission. “Digital transformation is at the heart of our strategy to improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in Nigeria’s capital market,” he said. “The Custodian Portal marks a major step forward, giving custodians a unified platform to manage essential operations in real time.”

Jalo-Waziri added, “We’re excited about the value this innovation brings to our stakeholders. We’re committed to continuously improving the platform based on user feedback and evolving industry demands.”

The portal is part of CSCS’s broader push to automate back-office processes and reduce operational bottlenecks across the market. Tobe Nnadozie, Divisional Head of Business Technology and Digital Innovation at CSCS, highlighted that the Custodian Portal is integrated into an omnichannel ecosystem for custodians, including API connectivity and secure workflow automation.

“Beyond standard features, this platform connects to a market-wide approval and communication workflow,” Nnadozie explained. “It ensures secure, seamless interaction among key market players. The system is protected by industry-leading cybersecurity solutions and monitored by our Security Operations Centre (SOC), ensuring data integrity and operational resilience.”

Designed with usability in mind, the portal includes practical tools such as downloadable portfolio reports in PDF or Excel formats, historical tracking of stock movements, inbox messaging with request status updates, and comprehensive user management with role-based access and status monitoring.

All licensed custodians in the Nigerian capital market have now been successfully onboarded onto the Custodian Portal , marking a pivotal milestone in CSCS’s digital transformation journey. This full-scale rollout underscores the organization’s commitment to standardizing processes, strengthening collaboration, and accelerating digital adoption across the financial ecosystem.

By streamlining workflows and enabling real-time data access, the Custodian Portal reinforces CSCS’s role as a catalyst for a more agile, transparent, and secure capital market in Nigeria.
