Cole Palmer, the young English midfielder, has been honored with the English Premier League (EPL) Player of the Month award for September 2024.
The EPL officially announced the award, recognizing Palmer’s exceptional performances during the month. The 22-year-old contributed significantly to Chelsea’s success, scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist in just 4 games.
One of Palmer’s standout performances came against West Ham United, where he scored a goal in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory at the London Stadium. He also showcased his goal-scoring prowess against Brighton & Hove Albion, netting four goals in their 4-2 win at Stamford Bridge. Additionally, he assisted Nicolas Jackson’s goal in the draw against Crystal Palace.
Palmer’s impressive performances earned him the award over other notable contenders, including Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Ryan Gravenberch, Ollie Watkins of Arsenal, Gabriel Magalhaes of Arsenal, Harvey Barnes, Raul Jimenez, and Dwight McNeil of Everton.
The midfielder’s recognition as the EPL Player of the Month comes on the heels of him being awarded the England Men’s Player of the Year for his outstanding performances with Enzo Maresca’s side last season.
