Amazon Web Services (AWS) has launched applications for its third Generative AI Accelerator, an eight-week global program supporting early-stage startups in AI innovation. The 2025 cohort will select up to 40 startups worldwide, offering each up to $1 million in AWS credits, mentorship, technical expertise, and educational resources.
Applications run from June 10 to July 10, with the program commencing on October 13, 2025, at Amazon’s Seattle headquarters. AWS Vice President and Global Head of Startups, Jon Jones, emphasized this year’s focus on startups developing foundational generative AI technologies.
“Virtually all startups will soon integrate generative AI into their business,” Jones stated. “Our goal is to accelerate global innovation by empowering those defining AI’s future.”
The hybrid program includes virtual sessions and in-person engagements at AWS events like re:Invent 2025. Eligible startups must specialize in large language models, AI infrastructure, fine-tuning platforms, or agent-based systems, with a minimum viable product (MVP), customer traction, and a skilled technical team.
Past participants, including Latent Labs CEO Simon Kohl Courtois, praised the program’s impact. “The Generative AI Accelerator provided unmatched technical depth and commercial exposure, helping us advance AI-driven drug discovery,” Kohl said.
Splash Music CEO Tracy Chan also highlighted benefits, citing improved model performance and access to AWS tools like SageMaker HyperPod and Trainium.
AWS continues to drive AI innovation, offering startups critical resources to scale transformative technologies.
