Accion Microfinance Bank has successfully empowered over 4,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Ibadan, Oyo State, through a three-day market storm initiative.

The market storm, held from September 2-4, aimed to bring Accion MFB’s financial services directly to market traders in Dugbe, Agbaje, and Gbayi markets. The initiative provided convenient access to financial solutions, allowing traders to seamlessly integrate them into their businesses.

Accion MFB’s market storm was part of its broader strategy to enhance financial inclusion and provide practical support to MSMEs. The event featured on-the-spot account openings, allowing traders to open accounts and access financial services immediately.

The initiative was a resounding success, with the Acting Head of Marketing Communications, Anita Oguni, highlighting the positive engagement from traders and increased account openings. The event also included various activities, such as dancing competitions, to create a lively atmosphere and foster a stronger connection between the bank and the community.

The Regional Bank Head, Collins Oboh, noted the overwhelmingly positive response from traders, which confirmed the acceptance of Accion MFB’s products and motivated the bank to continue refining its approach to meet the needs of MSMEs.

The Chief Commercial Officer at Accion MFB, Stephen Olalere, emphasized the bank’s commitment to easing the banking process for traders. By understanding the challenges faced by MSMEs, Accion MFB aimed to simplify their access to financial services through the market storm. The success of the initiative reaffirms the bank’s dedication to supporting the growth and development of MSMEs in the region. Sources and related content
