Access Bank and ASolar Partner to Empower SMEs with Green Energy Solutions

Access Bank Plc, a leading financial institution in Nigeria, has partnered with ASolar Systems Nigeria, a solar energy solutions provider, to launch a range of green energy products specifically designed to support small-scale businesses (SMEs) across the country. The partnership aims to address the power supply challenges faced by SMEs, enabling them to operate more efficiently and contribute to economic growth.

The collaboration was unveiled at a launch event tagged “Light Up Your Community” held at the Garki branch of Access Bank in Abuja. During the event, Access Bank Deputy Managing Director, Victor Etuokwu, highlighted the significance of addressing the power supply challenges faced by SMEs. He emphasized that consistent electricity is crucial for SMEs to thrive and for promoting financial inclusion, particularly in underserved rural areas.

Etuokwu further stated that the partnership with ASolar Systems marks a transformative step towards introducing cost-effective and dependable solar-powered solutions tailored specifically for SMEs. These solutions include solar-powered TV sets, air conditioners, and PoS machines, among others.

Speaking on behalf of ASolar Systems, Chief Executive Officer, Hakeem Shagaya, explained that the cost of a unit of the solar-powered products ranges between N150,000 and N300,000, with payment options spread across a 6-month period. He also mentioned that the company has already sold over 80,000 units of the products and is aiming to expand distribution through Access Bank agents nationwide.

Chizoba Iheme, Group Head, Financial Inclusion, Access Bank Plc, emphasized the bank’s extensive network of over 300,000 Access agents across the country, which will play a crucial role in facilitating the distribution of the solar-powered products.

This partnership between Access Bank and ASolar Systems demonstrates a commitment to empowering SMEs and promoting sustainable energy solutions in Nigeria. By providing SMEs with access to reliable and affordable solar-powered products, the partnership aims to foster economic growth, enhance financial inclusion, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
